Description: 4.5" - 6"; large scutes of the carapace in relatively straight rows across the back, lighter edges of the scutes form light bands across the carapace; bright yellow spots on head
Habitat: ponds, marshes, dtiches, edges of lakes, backwaters of streams
Range: Novia Scotia to Georgia
Food: Aquatic vegetation, insects, crayfish, small mollusks
