Species: Enodia anthedon, Northern Pearly Eye
Description: 1 3/4 - 2 5/8" wingspan; antennal clubs orange with black-ringed tip; above, brown with dark eyespots; below, brown; submarginal row of 4 black spots on forewing is straight and the dark line inside it is sinuous
Habitat: Damp deciduous woods, grassy woodlands
Range: Central Saskatchewan and eastern Nebraska east to Nova Scotia, south to central Alabama and Mississippi
Host/Food Plant: Caterpillars, various grasses; adults, sap from willows, poplars, and birch
