Description: 1 7/8 - 2 1/4" wingspan; underside forewing row of eyespots with first and last larger than middle spots and spots often not touching; hindwing postmedian line sinuous not zig-zag

Habitat: Forest edges, wooded edges near water

Range: southeast Canada , eastern US south to northern Gulf States; isolated populaton in central Florida

Host/Food Plant: Sedges (Carex spp.)

Status: Vulnerable to wetland development
